Chief Financial Officer
$200-250k Package
Global Engineering and Infrastructure Business
Western Suburbs (onsite parking and public transport options)
This very established, market leader is looking to appoint an experienced and high-performing CFO to take the business to the next stage in their journey. With 50+ years of market presence, the company presents strong stability and exciting growth. Working within the engineering and infrastructure space, it is likely the successful candidate will have exposure to a similar industry. Partnering closely with the CEO, you will quickly become their right hand, advising on day-to-day operations through to strategic initiatives.
With both a day-to-day operational focus as well as taking a long-term strategic lens, it is critical you are able to pivot between both. You will work closely with the CEO and other members of the executive to help drive the business forward, recognizing both growth opportunities and risks.
Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the finance function from the Sydney-based head office. You will oversee the finances for overseas subsidiaries that feed into the Australian head office.
Key responsibilities include:
To be successful in this position, it is likely you have held a similar finance leadership position in a related industry. Qualified CA or CPA, you have exposure to project accounting, costing, and inventory environments throughout your career, and these industry nuances are very familiar. You are agile and able to adapt to regular change on a day-to-day basis, pivoting from day-to-day operational tasks to long-term strategic initiatives. You are not afraid of being hands-on whilst also demonstrating a capability to operate at a senior executive/board level.
In return, you will be joining an established market leader who has been in operation for over 50 years and continues to go from strength to strength. You will work closely with the CEO and help guide this business through its next chapter of growth (organic and through M&A).

- Lead budget and strategic planning process
- Cashflow management - advising on working capital requirements (project-based accounting principles)
- Manage bank facilities and relationships; producing any covenant reporting
- Monthly management reporting and board pack preparation
- Oversee month end and year end close
- Oversee project cost tracking and WIP
- Lead pricing activity in tender processes
- Oversee IT department
- Due diligence and collaboration with CEO on any M&A processes
