As a Value for Money and ESG officer you will be expected to:
Develop and support a VFM and ESG culture across the group, supporting and reviewing its strategy and objectives in place.
Compile monthly and quarterly VFM and ESG reports. This includes board and regulatory reports in collaboration with key members of finance, governance, procurement, performance and other areas of the business.
Monitor and record tangible and non-tangible outputs and measures of VFM, ESG, strategy & sustainability goals and objectives.
Complete regular benchmarking exercises to assess ESG and VFM performance.
Record and produced Social Value activity Reports via HACT and TOMs portal biannual and annual for all group members
Identify regulator/ legislative changes to value for money, social value and ESG for both public and private sector procurement
Ensure and maintain compliance to Value for money, ESG, procurement and other associated strategies, policies, regulations, standards and guidelines.
Update, maintain and developing key systems and data reports, as well as identifying new data sources in line with ESG, VFM and social value
Record and produced social value activity reports via HACT and TOMs portal biannual and annual
Highlight and communicate emerging ESG and VFM risks and trends to Director of Value Creation and Senior Leaders.
Support Director of Value Creation and the Procurement Team on additional activities identified as part of VFM and ESG.
Support inputting ideas on Website page design and communication of VFM, Social value, ESG, modern slavery topics to external stakeholders in collaboration with Marketing
Support and develop integrated supply chain across the group to maximise financial and non-financial efficiencies
Design and deliver training programmes conveying ESG and VFM practices internally.
Support and develop integrated supply chain across the group to maximise financial and non-financial efficiencies
Work Closely with external partners to understand customer needs/future trends and has a broad awareness of competitors, like minded organisation and external factors.
Actively build and maintain supplier relationships to increase efficiency and communication along with continuous improvement.
Comply with the relevant specifications, health and safety policy provisions and SLAs.
Actively drive change as and when required to improve results and efficiency.
Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.
Support the Group Strategy and associated strategies to the role

To be successful in a Value for Money and ESG officer role, the skills you will need:
Current Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
Experience with a large Provider or complex organisation
Good working knowledge of value for money, social value, CSR, ESG and stakeholder performance management requirements
Financial and non-financial analytical skill sets and dealing with large datasets
Ability to use own initiative
Ability to create reports for multiple stakeholders for board members, executive management team and senior leaders
Office administrator experience with ESG, VFM, social value and/ or procurement background
Ability to communicate effectively, with strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write concise and accurate reports with ability to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email
Ability to consult with stakeholders and customers
Ability to analyse and think laterally, appraise and produce cost, management and statistical information, summarising key points / recommendations to Boards, Committees, EMTs
Ability to prioritise work and adhere to strict deadlines and targets
Ability to be flexible and adaptive to change, influencing cultural /organisational change and challenging norms
Innovative thinking, identifying ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness and eliminate waste
Ability to learn and grasp the changing nature of legislation in the ESG, social value and VFM environment
Experience in implementing, leading and driving change
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
CIPS qualified - ideally level 4 or above
Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
Qualification in sustainability, social value or related field.
Experience of Value for Money and ESG activities and functions including:
Risk management
Supply chain management
Social Value
Spend analysis
Carbon Neutral Reductions
Energy Efficiency
ESG reporting
