Group Financial Controller (FD Designate) Warrington(Depending on Experience)

The Role

We are looking for a GroupFinancial Controller/Group FDto join the team, working closely with the Managing Director and leading the finance teams at two businesses. The role is open due to an impending retirement, they are looking to introduce a new person into the senior leadership team who can grow with the plans the company has for the future.

You'll play a key role in shaping financial strategy, overseeing monthly accounts, and annual budgets, and ensuring we meet all financial regulations. You'll also provide valuable insights for business decisions and improve our financial systems.

The Responsibilities
  • Lead the finance function and provide strategic advice.
  • Analyse business opportunities and offer financial expertise.
  • Advise senior management on financial performance and drive improvements.
  • Oversee financial systems and ensure compliance with HMRC and statutory regulations.
  • Support financial audits and implement internal auditing where needed.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and our CCO policy.

The Day-to-Day
  • Manage the finance teams at both companies, including recruitment, training, and performance.
  • Produce budgets, forecasts, and monthly management reports.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Provide financial guidance on key business decisions
  • Work with our European partners on all financial matters

The Qualifications, Skills and Background
  • Essential:ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Desirable:BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or related field; MSc/MA is a bonus.
  • Worked in a construction or engineering business
  • Have an understanding of acquisitions
  • Be able to work in a collaborative way

This role is great for progression and has a line of sight for bigger things in the future. This role is five days in the office and you will need to be a driver to get between the different sites.

You must have the right to work in the UK and be based in the UK now.
