Introduction
Client in the manufacturing sector requires a young, dynamic, Financial Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
  • Oversee the Debtors Clerk and monitor the collection of debts
  • Oversee the creditors function, check and authorise creditor recons
  • Authorise / process supplier Journals
  • Load supplier and other payments for release
  • Oversee the full Accounting function up to final trial balance
  • Ensure full Tax computation and deferred tax calculations are done monthly
  • Oversee invoicing and ensure completeness with sales system reconciliation
  • Process and reconcile all bank statements

Oversee and approve reconciliations:
    • Petty cash
    • Inventory recon between sales and accounting systems
    • Monthly salary recon

Pass month end journals, including but not limited to:
    • Depreciation
    • Forex profit / loss
    • Month end COS / raw materials
  • Update and manage Fixed Asset Register as well as the wear and tear register
  • Compile exchange control renewal documents

Prepare monthly management reporting consisting of the following:
  • Balance sheet
  • Cash flow statement
  • Income statement
  • Production Income Statement
  • Variance analysis (vs budget)
  • Variance by expense (vs budget)
  • YTD analysis
  • Consolidated Income Statement

Audits
  • Operational control of annual audit
  • Oversee drafting of and compile annual audit documents
  • Oversee drafting of and compile annual Financial Statements

Budgets
  • Assist with preparation of annual operational budget

Cashflow
  • Manage cash flow forecast
  • Update the cash flow weekly with actuals and forecast changes
  • Reconcile cash flow differences month to month (with reporting)

Forex
  • Monitor exchange rates, customs, taxes and exchange controls for imports and exports - daily
  • Control and manage forex creditors and ensure timeous payments

Staff Management

Effectively manage all staff members and ensure:
  • Workload is spread fairly and in line with capabilities
  • Staff members fulfil their roles to expectation
  • Provide on the job training and upskill
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback
  • Manage absenteeism and misconduct and take appropriate corrective action
  • Assist with recruitment of staff
