IT Services - Mid Market PE

On-site working structure (4 days a week on-site)

I’m partnering with a leading mid-market fund to find a dynamic CFO for a sub-£20m IT Services portfolio company.

This is a pivotal role, with a focus on driving market expansion, EBITDA growth, and leading the business through a successful exit.

I am keen to connect with ambitious professionals who’ve led an exit and can influence meaningful change at a granular level. Ideally, you’ll have a strong foundation in commercial finance, Transaction Services, or M&A within a value-creation environment, followed by a transition into Private Capital as a CFO.

The Investor is looking for a high-energy, self-motivated leader who’s ready to take on a significant challenge and make a lasting impact.

The Role:
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board to develop and execute strategies aimed at market expansion, revenue growth, and increased profitability.
  • Plan and implement initiatives for organic growth and acquisitions, including due diligence, financial modelling, and integration efforts.
  • Establish and monitor a robust KPI framework to track progress toward EBITDA and cash flow targets.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance enterprise value and position the company for a strategic exit.
  • Assess market opportunities and risks, offering actionable insights to support Board decisions.
  • Oversee annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning to align with business goals.
  • Deliver accurate, real-time financial reporting (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet) to inform decision-making.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure financial flexibility and support growth.
  • Implement strong financial systems, controls, and risk management processes, including tax planning and compliance.
  • Lead financing negotiations with lenders and investors to secure resources for growth.
  • Work with investors and the Board to create a roadmap for a high-value exit.
  • Prepare the organisation for due diligence, ensuring financial readiness, governance compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee financial elements of potential transactions, including equity valuations and investor presentations.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements to maximise value during the exit process.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, ensuring delivery of both strategic and operational goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, offering financial insight and constructive challenge.

About you:
  • Proven ability to scale businesses, drive growth, and execute successful exits, ideally in subscription-based, technology, or professional /business services sector.
  • Led an exit in a mid-market PE portfolio company or been very close to the transaction.
  • Demonstrated success in acquisitions, integrations, and private equity transactions.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, KPI tracking, and driving operational improvements.
  • Expertise in corporate finance, working capital management, tax compliance, and refinancing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to inspire teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA).
