- Financial Reporting: Prepare cash flow forecasts, monthly P&L, balance sheet reports, and ad-hoc financial reports to support business decision making.
- Year-End Accounts: Manage year end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
- Budgeting & Costing: Track expenditure, support budget preparation, and ensure spending aligns with financial goals.
- Accounts Payable: Process purchase invoices, reconcile supplier accounts, and manage payment schedules to ensure timely, accurate payments.
- Accounts Receivable: Process sales invoices, perform reconciliations, and follow up on outstanding invoices while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Data Entry & Compliance: Enter month-end transactions (accruals, prepayments, journals), reconcile the trial balance, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering).
- Payroll & VAT: Process payroll and employee expenses; reconcile VAT accounts and prepare returns in line with HMRC regulations.
- Client & Vendor Communication: Act as the point of contact for billing and payment queries, resolving disputes and maintaining positive relationships.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant experience in SME environments.
- Technical Accounting Expertise: Strong understanding of SME operations and financial processes.
- Proven Track Record: Experience improving financial systems, driving efficiencies, and adapting to a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership: Ability to lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing finance team.
- Property/Real Estate Experience: Knowledge of the sector is a plus, though not essential.
