Lotus People is delighted to be partnering with this leading not for profit organisation with a strong presence in Queensland. Currently seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their dedicated People and Culture team, this is an organisation that boasts a highly engaged and collaborative culture.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Manager of People and Culture, this is a 4-month fixed-term contract which will see you collaborate closely with both the People & Culture and Finance teams. As Payroll Manager, you will take the lead in overseeing the payroll function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of salaries and wages, comprehensive reporting, statutory compliance, audits, and insightful analysis. You will also play a critical role in driving payroll system improvements and supporting the implementation of a new system.
This role is based in the office with a flexible hybrid working arrangement, offering the convenience of work-from-home options two days per week, as well as adaptable start and finish times. Join an impactful organisation and contribute your expertise in a meaningful and rewarding environment.
DUTIES
- Ensure payroll runs are completed and approved on time with the relevant industrial instrument.
- Interpret awards and enterprise agreements.
- Maintain payroll databases, ensuring they are up to date.
- Manage payroll reporting and statutory requirements.
- Provide reporting and analysis to assist the business in managing cost and risk.
- Oversee the calculation, remittance, and reconciliation of all payroll-related payments and deductions.
- Lead and coordinate ongoing reviews and formal audits.
- Perform the role of internal auditor for all payroll functions.
- Act as the payroll SME for IT transformation projects.
- Serve as the core conduit between payroll, finance, and human resource functions.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processes, including handling tax, child support, and benefits.
- Oversee the implementation of new payroll systems.
- Proven experience managing all aspects of payroll.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislative requirements.
- Understanding of National Employment Standards and Fair Work Guidelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- A strong understanding of system implementations and improvements.
- Ability to manage a fortnightly pay run and handle potential errors.
