MacGregor Black is supporting a thriving, owner-managed advertising business on the search for an experienced Bookkeeper for a 12-month contract. This role is based in London.
Based in the heart of London, our client is a highly regarded advertising agency renowned for delivering innovative campaigns and exceptional service to a diverse client base. The team is passionate, collaborative, and committed to excellence, and they are seeking someone who shares their values to manage the financial operations.
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the business's day-to-day financial activities. Reporting directly to the business owner, this role offers the opportunity to work in a creative and dynamic environment while ensuring smooth financial operations.

As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the business's day-to-day financial activities. Reporting directly to the business owner, this role offers the opportunity to work in a creative and dynamic environment while ensuring smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including purchase and sales ledgers.
- Reconcile bank accounts, process invoices, and manage payments.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.
- Manage payroll, pensions, and related employee expenses.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Provide financial insights and reports to the business owner to support decision-making.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within an SME or creative industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT regulations.
- The ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
