As Payroll Officer you will be responsible for the accurate and prompt processing of a high-volume payroll function, including fortnightly time sheets for a casual workforce across multiple awards as well as fortnightly administrative payroll. You'll also collaborate with HR, finance, and IT departments to streamline payroll operations and ensure accurate reporting. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in-office and 2 from home.

Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate the end-to-end processing and administration of the divisions payroll, partnering with divisional and wider business teams to ensure precision and integrity of payroll data.
- Ensure that pay related employee records are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact and respond to and resolve payroll enquiries and issues that may be escalated from front line and support staff.
- Interpret awards and update organisational records to ensure compliance.
- Identify and communicate payroll-related issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Support the processing of Superannuation, PAYG.
- Minimum 3 years payroll experience in large volume payroll environments.
- Competent and capable in all areas of payroll processing and maintains up to date knowledge as required.
- Ability to interpret Awards and apply relevant legislation.
- Customer service focus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skill including the ability to articulate ideas, present opinions and build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience of working in the healthcare sector is a distinct advantage.
- Experience using payroll software (Chris21 highly desirable)
