We're partnering with a leading healthcare organisation based in Melbourne's East. This is a hybrid position with 4 days in-office and 1 from home.

An exciting opportunity in our team for an Experienced Payroll Officer on 9-months FTC with potential to extend. This role is perfect for someone who is a strong Payroll operator with experience across Nursing, SCHADS, and Aged Care awards.

As Payroll Officer you will be responsible the accurate and prompt end-to-end processing of a high-volume payroll function, including weekly timesheets for a casual workforce across multiple awards as well as fortnightly administrative payroll. You'll also collaborate with HR, finance, and IT departments to streamline payroll operations and ensure accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the end-to-end processing and administration of the divisions payroll, partnering with divisional and wider business teams to ensure precision and integrity of payroll data.
  • Ensure that pay related employee records are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Act as a key point of contact and respond to and resolve payroll enquiries and issues that may be escalated from front line and support staff.
  • Interpret awards and update organisational records to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and communicate payroll-related issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the processing of Superannuation, PAYG.
What we're looking for:
  • Minimum 3 years payroll experience in high volume payroll environments.
  • Competent and capable in all areas of payroll processing and maintaining current knowledge as required.
  • Relevant experience working on Nursing, SCHADS, Aged Care awards, Enterprise Agreements, and contracts of employment.
  • Customer service focus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skill including the ability to articulate ideas, present opinions and build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience of working in the healthcare sector is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience using payroll software (TechOne highly desirable)
