Murray Recruitment are recruiting a permanent Assistant Accountant for our client, a leading construction company based in North Lanarkshire. This position is available on full-time (37.5 hours) or part-time (30 hours) basis.

Role Overview

You will play a key role in ensuring consistent financial practices and contributing to the overall success of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts, overhead accounts, and balance sheets.
- Perform reconciliations, prepayments, accruals, and month-end journal postings.
- Maintain and update financial data within the COINS system.
- Support cost reporting, control, and analysis of cash variances.
- Prepare weekly cashflows, actively pursuing receipts, and creating monthly cash meeting analysis.
- Provide balance sheet analysis, including aged debtors and creditors.
- Produce reports on internal spend and assist with auditor queries.
- Set up and manage contracts on COINS, including tender data and WBS code updates.
- Assist with ad hoc financial tasks as required.
Skills & Experience
- Part-qualified accountant or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in COINS accounting software (preferred).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with a solid understanding of other Office applications.
- Ideally 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an aptitude for accurate reporting.
- Excellent planning, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
- Full Driving Licence and ability to travel across Central Belt of Scotland.
