A successful company based in Glasgow City Centre is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This role is office based.

The candidate will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the financial management of several operating sites and other ad hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Overall day to day financial management of several of the operating sites
  • Purchase ledger - seeking approval and allocating supplier invoices using Sage Paperless
  • Ensuring supplier statements are reconciled at month end
  • Investigating and closing supplier invoice queries
  • Preparing month end payment runs
  • Allocating and clearing Sage bank feeds then reconciling month end bank balances
  • Reconciling and booking turnover data from our property management system into Sage and liaising with the site managers to resolve any discrepancies
  • Supporting the monthly close and the preparation of monthly accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all reports are ready before deadlines
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Working on ad hoc projects, including site cost analysis

The Ideal Candidate:

o Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant position

o Good attention to detail

o Strong numerical and analytical skills

o Familiarity with Sage 50 would be an advantage

o Experience assisting with month end close, posting journals (e.g. prepayments & accruals)
