Senior Tax Manager Overview
Our Client was Founded in 2000 and currently operated by three partners, The firm is proud to be accredited with the “Investors in People” Gold standard. As leaders in cloud and technology-driven accounting, They have been paperless for over 15 years and passionate users of Xero and integrated apps for more than 8 years. The practice operates with advanced systems, including Xero (Platinum Champions), G Suite for office management, and TaxCalc for compliance and workflow. Authorized partners of the DiSC psychometric profiling system, offering clients expert support in strategic planning, leadership development, team building, coaching, and peer board facilitation.
Our client specializes in working with SMEs that aspire to grow or enhance their business performance, typically serving clients with a turnover of £1.5M+ and 10 or more employees. All of their clients have been operating for atleast three years, with a turnover over £500K, and not located over 50 miles from the office. They have a very modern office with serviced meeting rooms ideal to meet clients in.
Key responsibilities for the Senior Tax Manager:
* Manage, prepare, and submit personal and corporation tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant deadlines.
* Address client tax queries via email and phone, providing guidance on tax matters affecting their business or personal affairs.
* Assist the tax partner in delivering tax planning advice to clients, including preparing written advice for ad-hoc assignments.
* Collaborate with the Virtual Finance Office (VFO) team to resolve tax queries related to monthly management accounts.
* Work closely with the financial mastery partner to provide clients with comprehensive, integrated tax and business advice.
* Support the tax partner in delivering advisory services, such as taxation health checks and pre-year-end meetings.
* Assist the Payroll Manager with payroll reviews, technical queries, and provide holiday cover when needed.
* Maintain an expert level of technical tax knowledge, staying updated on industry developments.
* Uphold high professional standards and ethics when engaging with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
* Effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
* Achieve the objectives outlined in your personal business plan.
Requirements for the Senior Tax manager
* Have a background in practice.
* Hold a tax qualification, with at least ATT certification (CTA qualification preferred), and a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
* Reside within the Leeds, Bradford, or Harrogate area.
