We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our Finance team supporting our businesses across the UK and Ireland. As part of a small team you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills, with daily interaction with our customers and colleagues across the business.
This is a Group support role that requires a positive and proactive attitude with the credibility to interact with senior staff and external customers. This role will be split 50/50 between two of our businesses; Core Technologies (based in Ireland) and VGUK (a UK holding company). The role will be based at our UK office in Chorley.
As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the assistant accountant/financial controller and be responsible for providing professional administrative support to both external and internal customers.

Job Description:
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Processing supplier invoices
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Creating Purchase Orders
- Creating sales invoices
- Credit Control
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany- including invoicing, reconciliations and cash transactions
- Bank - Daily bank reconciliations, processing weekly payment run and one-off payments such as PAYE
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required to support the Finance team
- Ensure system rules are followed in line with Group policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will:
- be numerically literate with experience of the above tasks;
- have experience of using several different IT systems;
- have a broad knowledge of software and information technology markets an advantage;
- have good knowledge of MS Word & Excel;
- have a sharp attention to detail;
- possess the ability to prioritise workload for time sensitive activities;
- have good communication skills;
- be enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable, with a flexible, “can do” attitude;
- be a self-starter, with ability to work on their own, with good organizational skills but able to be part of a team environment.
