Radley Green is leading the search for a Chief Financial Officer for a private equity-backed media business. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to shape the financial strategy and steer the company toward a successful exit within four years.

As CFO, you will work closely with the CEO, senior leadership, and the Board to scale operations, optimize financial performance, and position the business as a leader in B2B news, intelligence, and events. This is a unique chance to make a lasting impact in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial processes, systems, and teams to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting, including a 4-day month-end close.
  • Manage annual budgeting, re-forecasting, and cashflow forecasting (12-week rolling and long-term).
  • Drive margin improvements across Media Advertising, B2B Subscriptions, and Physical Events by challenging cost bases and optimizing net margins.
  • Enhance financial systems to support scalability and growth, delivering robust KPIs and actionable insights via monthly Board packs.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leadership, PE investors, and external stakeholders, securing financial facilities to support growth.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance, offering analysis to inform company strategy, targets, and business drivers.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, taxation, GDPR, and risk management policies.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and legal processes, engaging external advisors as needed.
  • Prepare the business for a future sale, including developing sale materials and presenting to potential buyers.
  • Oversee corporate governance, option schemes, and cap table maintenance.

What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with up-to-date technical expertise.
  • Experience as a senior finance leader in a business of similar scale or complexity; first-time CFO candidates are welcome.
  • Proven success driving financial process improvements, especially in international or cost-conscious environments.
  • Expertise in financial modelling, data analysis, and presenting actionable insights at Board level.
  • A history of scaling businesses, implementing cost-saving measures, and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Exposure to investor-backed businesses and familiarity with PE priorities like cashflow, EBITDA, cost management, and exit planning.

What Makes You the Right Fit
  • Pace: You thrive in dynamic environments, balancing decisiveness with diligence to drive results.
  • Rigour: Analytical, detail-oriented, and relentless in pursuing excellence.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You seek innovation, adapt to challenges, and proactively identify growth opportunities.
  • Trustworthiness: Your integrity earns the confidence of colleagues and stakeholders alike.
  • Work Ethic: Resilient, driven, and hands-on, you bring energy and determination to everything you do.
  • Communication: Credible, charismatic, and effective, you can build buy-in across all levels and excel in high-stakes discussions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Highly intelligent, you prioritize and translate business performance into actionable plans.

This role is your chance to shape the future of a high-growth business and deliver significant value to shareholders. If you’re ready to lead with impact and precision, we’d love to hear from you.
