About the RoleAs the Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Directors by delivering accurate and timely management account reports. This position is integral to the company's success, requiring diligence, professionalism, and a keen desire for professional growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour contributions will span various critical areas, including:
- Preparing monthly financial statements and reports, covering bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany management.
- Conducting variance analysis and providing insightful commentary to the Group.
- Creating and issuing client invoices.
- Collaborating with leadership on budgets and forecasts.
- Analyzing financial data to offer valuable insights.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Assisting with audit preparations and responding to audit queries.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements in management accounting.
- Posting and reconciling credit card expenses.
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations.
- Managing monthly stock takes and HMRC reporting (e.g., VAT via MTD, P11Ds).
- Overseeing payroll and employee benefit schemes (e.g., Vitality, Cycle to Work, childcare, car leasing).
- Handling ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
- Partnering with Directors and key business stakeholders.
- Performing occasional office administrative tasks, such as arranging couriers and handling client calls.
About YouWe are looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: 3-5 years in management accounting.
- Certification: Qualified accountant or nearing qualification (finalist).
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, proficient in Microsoft Excel, and generally computer literate. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
- A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to professional development.
