JOB DESCRIPTION
A Head of Finance uses their accounting expertise to guide their clients financial plans and ensure all tax activities are compliant with provincial and federal regulations. Their duties include planning taxes, auditing accounts, and recommending solutions to accounting issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Head of Finance, candidate will:
lManage financial systems and budgets.
lUndertake financial audits (an independent check of an organisation's financial position).
lProvide financial advice.
lLiaise with clients (individuals or businesses) and provide financial information and advice.
lReview the company's systems and analyse risk.
lPerform tests to check financial information and systems.
lAdvise clients on tax planning (within current legislation to enable them to minimize their tax liability) and tax issues associated with activities such as business acquisitions and mergers.
lMaintain accounting records and prepare accounts and management information for small businesses (accountancy).
lAdvise clients on business transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions (corporate finance).
lCounsel clients on areas of business improvement, or dealing with insolvency.
lDetect and prevent fraud (forensic accounting).
lManage junior colleagues.
lLiaise with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise.
lProduce reports and recommendations following internal audits or public sector audits.
lPrepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts.
lArrange financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting.
lAdvise on tax and treasury issues.
lTracking budget and accounting information, such as billing, collections and tax information.
lOverseeing the taxation affairs of the company and liaising with the external tax firm for advice.
lImplementing and advising on strategies to increase revenue and reduce costs.
lResearching market changes and using them to provide strategic financial recommendations.
lConducting risk management analyses to ensure the company has a solid risk framework in operation.
lPerforming investment appraisals and analyses
lOverseeing the cash flow of the business and ensuring it has appropriate treasury controls in place
lManaging the end-to-end audit process of current financial systems
lPreparing financial statements and business activity reports and presenting them to top executives
lRecommending cost reduction strategies and allocating budgets
lOverseeing commercial decision-making from margin analysis, tender analysis and pricing analysis
REQUIREMENTS
lBachelor's degree in accounting.
lHonor's degree preferred.
lMust have CA degree.
lCompletion of Articles.
l8 to 10 years post articleship experience.
lRegistration with accredited statutory body and association.
lCertified Public Accountant (CPA).
lFully compliant as a tax practitioner.
lFiling of corporate tax returns.
lExperience in providing financial advice.
lMust be a local resident of Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
