Main Duties:
  • Audit of a large range of corporate clients including groups and overseas subsidiaries
  • Reporting directly to partners and liaising with other managers as required
  • Planning, supervision and review of audit and accounts cases including preparing notes for partners
  • Main point of contact with clients and liaising with clients both face to face and on the phone/video- link/email on day to day issues
  • Assisting staff with technical accounting and auditing problems
  • Identifying and capitalising on opportunities and prospects for new work
  • Delivering confident and clear presentations of service features and benefits to clients
  • Assessing and producing high quality work in line with the Firm's policy and processes, meeting relevant regulatory requirements
  • Taking ownership of projects, effectively delegating to others within the team and taking responsibility for quality control.Actively seeking to enhance expertise and knowledge
  • Developing the audit function in Milton Keynes and synchronising with the other offices
  • Supervision and development of staff and providing leadership to the department
  • Assisting in preparation and delivery of pitches for new clients
  • Billing and monitoring actual costs against budgets and reporting to partners on variances
  • Drafting bills on a monthly basis for review by partners
  • Liaising with the Corporate Business Tax department in relation to the preparation and review of corporation tax computations

Requirements:
  • Relevant privately owned business sector audit experience
  • Up to date technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102 and IFRS
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing
  • A working knowledge of accounting software
  • Able to deal confidently and effectively with clients, staff and partners
  • Able to provide on the job training for staff as appropriate
  • Able to multi-task
  • Self-starter who looks for solutions and makes recommendations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
  • Proven managerial skills and experience
  • Confident in marketing, networking and pitching to potential clients
  • A passion to become part of a growing team and help to promote the technical expertise of the team and increase its profile both internally and externally
  • Maintaining control and stability under pressure whilst recognising the deadline or urgency
  • 3 years experience in a managerial position
  • ACA or ACCA qualified
