Our client, a leading retail and e-commerce company, is seeking an experienced Interim Tax Manager to support their tax compliance, reporting, and SOX activities during a team member's temporary leave. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to the company's tax strategy and financial objectives. The position is open to candidates in any U.S. time zone and runs from January 6 to May 30, 2025.

Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns (Form 1120 and 50+ jurisdictions).
- Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision processes under ASC 740, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
- Manage tax accounting and monthly close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) tax-related controls, maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audits.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, legal, and external auditors, to address tax matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in corporate income tax compliance and reporting.
- Expertise in federal and state tax compliance, ASC 740, and tax accounting principles.
- Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Corptax, OneSource) and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
