About The Role
This position is integral to supporting the Financial Controller by accurately recording transactions, maintaining accounting ledgers, and assisting with financial planning and analysis for the UK & Ireland businesses. Key responsibilities include ensuring precise and timely financial reporting, contributing to budget preparation, and providing insightful analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with various departments to streamline financial processes and enhance overall financial efficiency.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Execute monthly financial closing procedures, including thorough cost centre and ledger reviews for accruals and prepayments.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding reconciling items, focusing on deferred revenue, accrued revenue and fixed assets.
- Perform analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement line items on a monthly basis.
- Prepare detailed monthly analysis reports for the CFO on transactions and activities.
- Support project accounting, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly performance reviews including cash flow forecasting.
- Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the UK & Ireland entities.
- Facilitate the annual audit process and collaborate with auditors by providing necessary information.
- Assist with the annual tax return data gathering process and monthly VAT preparation processes.
- Continuously focus on improving transactional processes and system automations.
- Owning the prepartion of our group functions reporting packs.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Supporting the training and development of the wider finance team.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of working accountancy experience.
- Qualified accountant preferred with 2 to 3 years PQE
- Financial system knowledge, Workday ERP experience is preferred
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Keen attention to detail and inquisitive
- Ability to identify, recommend and implement solutions for issues around process and controls
