An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Financial Accountant to join a dynamic Finance team on a project basis in the Tyger valley area in Cape Town. Reporting to the Financial Manager, this role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and contributing to the success of financial projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., B. Com)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial accounting role
• Articles experience advantageous but not essential
• Proficiency in Oracle (requirement)
• Familiarity with SAP is recommended (recommendation)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial records, including balance sheet reconciliations and income statement allocations
• Ensure accurate departmental cost allocations and manage accruals and provisions journals
• Analyze budget variances and provide insights
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts (e.g., Inventory, Prepaid Expenses, Intangible Assets)
• Review the trial balance and address queries before month-end close
• Maintain and improve financial internal controls
• Assist with ad-hoc financial projects
• Review and approve creditor reconciliations and purchase orders per Delegation of Authority
• Review and approve supplier payments
