Universal Healthcare currently seeks an Assistant Accountant for a 6 months contract.The Assistant Accountant will be primarily responsible for reconciling claims and premiums, including investigating and clearing any reconciling items.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reconciling claims schedules (claims bordereaux) to payments received from the insurer
- Reconciling claims payments received by the underwriting manager to payments made to providers and policyholders
- Investigating and clearing reconciling items
- Receipting and allocation of premiums
- Reconciling premium accounts
- Preparing payments to insurers and brokers
- Reconciling commissions, preparing and distributing statements
- Resolving commission related queries and attending to ad-hoc requests from clients
- Generating reports for invoicing
- Preparing various billing and membership reports for distribution to management
- Prepare and submit bordereaux to Insurers
- Prepare IFRS 17 information to submit to Insurers and reconcile information to bordereaux submitted
- Draft and update SOPs relevant to the role
- Bachelor of Commerce or a relevant Diploma
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Accounting role
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the insurance industry
