A leading financial institution offering a comprehensive suite ofbanking solutions tailored to the needs of large corporate businesses is looking for a skilled Business Banker to join their team in Johannesburg. This is a client facing role, responsible for acquiring new business and managing key accounts with companies that have a minimum annual turnover of R50 million. There is no cap on the size of business you can approach in this role
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development: Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities from companies with a minimum annual turnover of R50 million with no capKey Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key institutional clients, ensuring their banking needs are met and exceededFinancial Advisory: Provide expert guidance to clients on a wide range of financial products and services, including Loans and Credit Lines, Merchant Services, Trade Finance, Treasury Services, Foreign Exchange, Equities, and Complex Business AccountsTailored Solutions: Work with internal teams to design customized banking solutions that align with the specific financial needs of large businessesCross-Selling: Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional banking products and services to optimize client satisfaction and profitabilityRisk Management: Analyze clients' financial status and ensure all lending and credit facilities are in line with risk management policiesClient Retention: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention through proactive communication and the delivery of value-added services
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in business banking, with a proven track record of acquiring new corporate clients with a minimum T/O of R50 million PA and managing these large, complex business accountsFinancial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial products and services, particularly Loans and Credit Lines, Merchant Services, Trade Finance, Treasury Services, Foreign Exchange, Equities, and Complex Business AccountsClient-Focused: Ability to understand client needs and provide bespoke solutions, ensuring long-term business relationshipsAnalytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial statements, assess business risk, and recommend appropriate financial solutionsCommunication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior decision-makersEducation: A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, business, or economics (e.g., BCom, MBA) is highly advantageous
