About the Opportunity
Lead financial excellence in a dynamic renewable energy company!
Is this you?
You're an experienced Financial Manager with a proven track record in managing the financial operations of a group of companies. You thrive on streamlining processes, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate financial reporting. You're passionate about contributing to a business driving impactful change in South Africa's renewable energy sector.
What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)
As Group Finance Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of financial management for a group of companies, from day-to-day accounting operations, cash flow management, and tax compliance to consolidating monthly accounts. You'll lead the preparation of tax returns and audits, manage debtors and creditors, and maintain financial controls. Your role includes improving processes, managing group insurance policies, and liaising with lenders and external auditors. You'll also guide and support a Junior Accountant, ensuring that the team runs smoothly while you actively contribute to achieving operational excellence.
The group of companies is growing and there is a need to lay some foundations and put the processes and systems in place. We're looking for someone who's happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, no job being too big or small and someone that's happy to do the day to day finance function that is operationally focused. The company has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and we need a team player that's eager to work in an ever changing and diversifying environment and put the correct procedures in place.
Where you'll be doing it
The offices are in Rosebank, Gauteng. In the first few months you would be in office daily, thereafter there is a hybrid possibility of two days work from home. There is a big focus on accountability and autonomy. The company is a renewable energy company that is growing and embodies a fresh and dynamic approach to the industry. The company has a youthful spirit, a small and agile team and they maintain a flat organizational structure.
Working there means you're joining a fantastic group of individuals who are passionate about what they do. They consider themselves the "Swiss Army knives" of the renewable energy sector, and they aspire to attract like-minded individuals who share their vision for the industry. Trust is a cornerstone of their work culture.
You will have an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that is shaping the future of energy solutions internationally. With your new employers commitment to innovation and sustainability, employees find themselves at the forefront of the clean energy revolution.
What you'll need
You'll need a minimum of five years of finance and accounting experience, ideally as a Financial Manager, coupled with a degree in accounting or finance. A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and general ledger functions is essential. Your technical proficiency in accounting software, advanced Excel skills, and attention to detail will be key to your success. Experience with audits and tax compliance will give you a strong advantage in this role. You'll need some staff management experience. Would be great if you have renewable energy industry experience but if not, a related industry. If you have high accountability, not afraid to get stuck in and are open for a challenge, then this is for you! As mentioned, someone that is happy to do the day to day financial management in an entrepreneurial and growing company is what we're looking for. If you've had experience with financial management for a group of companies that will be the preference.
What you'll get
You'll receive a basic salary with the possibility of a discretionary bonus which is in December based on company and personal performance. There are 21 working days leave.
