Hays Senior Finance is partnered exclusively with this stable and innovative SME business based in Telford to help them recruit a Head of Finance. The Head of Finance will join their existing team and lead their financial strategy, processes and operations.

Your new role

This job is a hands-on role. It will involve managing the finance functions as well as supporting the HR and IT operations in the business.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Oversee all financial operations and financial planning and structure
• Coordinate, analyse, and report the financial performance to the Managing Director
• Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards
• Manage relationships with external auditors
• Lead and manage the finance team
• Provide financial insights and support for HR-related activities, including payroll, benefits, and recruitment.
• Work closely with IT to ensure financial systems and technologies are optimised and secure.
• Oversee and manage invoice factoring processes to improve cash flow and maintain financial stability.
• Develop and maintain cash forecasting models to ensure accurate and timely cash flow projections.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as a Head of Finance or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office including excel
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
