We are looking for a professional with exposure to EMEA VAT to join our team in a newly created role, to be based in our London office.
We are looking for a professional with exposure to EMEA VAT to join our team in a newly created role, to be based in our London office.
- Identify areas to improve the effectiveness of our VAT planning activities and initiates and to drive efforts to streamline or improve processes, tools and reporting.
- Lead on implementation and the integration of indirect tax related software solutions.
- Work on evaluation and mitigation of tax risks.
- Overseeing VAT compliance and reporting work undertaken by finance team, ensuring that it is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Liaising with external advisors and internal stakeholders on tax-related matters.
- Providing internal tax training and updates.
- Managing internal relations and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Responsibility for the multijurisdictional VAT review and VAT registration process and liaison with tax authorities on VAT audits.
- Supporting the business with VAT-related queries (including import VAT and Duties on global imports).
- Identifying potential tax planning opportunities.
- EU VAT experience, gained ideally in a professional firm with and in-house experience. Minimum of 7+ years of experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand processes and systems.
- Understanding of or practical experience with VAT laws in EU countries.
- VAT system implementation experience desirable.
