We are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing and dynamic company based in Bromsgrove. Our client is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a management accounting role with the potential to progress into a Financial Controller position as the company continues to grow and develop.
Role Overview:
As the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for providing key financial insights, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and supporting the senior management team with decision-making through accurate financial reporting and analysis. You will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure financial data is accurate and aligned with the company’s goals.

This role offers a clear progression path into a Financial Controller position, providing the opportunity to develop leadership and strategic financial management skills as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities as a Management Accountant:
  • Prepare and report monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts. Analyze variances and provide recommendations.
  • Assist with the annual budget preparation and monitor ongoing forecasts, updating financial models as needed.
  • Provide financial analysis to support business decision-making, identify trends, and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage working capital, offering insights into cost control and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. Support month-end and year-end processes.
  • Use Xero for managing financial transactions, bank reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial projects, process improvements, and system upgrades as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Xero experience is essential: You should have hands-on experience with Xero, ideally for managing financial transactions, reporting, and analysis.
  • Part-qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in management accounting or a similar finance role is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience with monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, cost management, and financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with financial models and large datasets.
