Well known company based in Johannesburg South requires a Jnr Cost Accountant who has experience with costing of "raw materials to finished products".Duties & ResponsibilitiesSetting standard costs of manufactured goods
Developing and analysing cost standards
Maintaining master parts list
Maintaining master “mark up rates” list
Establishing costs of business processes such as parts (manufactured and bought), kit packing, timber, container, administration, labour, time, shipping, etc. using Microsoft Excel
Recommending changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximise profits
Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
Responsible for compiling production or sales cost reports on units or total basis for departments or working units
Pulling data from accounting system
Examines and analyses production records, such as time and production sheets, operations charts and schedules, to obtain data for calculations
Responsible for managing and facilitating the cost close out of projects, ensuring any outstanding issues / cost commitments are dealt with in a timely manner
Analysing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program

Education and Experience:
Gr 12 Maths or Accounting
Diploma in Accounting or Costing
Heavy manufacturing experience is a must
Experience working in an environment with a high volume of parts (7000 to 8000 parts)
Knowledge of accounting systems
2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment in a costing role
Strong Microsoft Excel (formulas and V-look Ups) and mathematics skills in order to work on many projects with different deadlines is importantPackage & RemunerationMonthly plus Basic salary, provident fund
