The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager will play a critical role in driving the company's financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to provide insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making purposes. The FP&A Manager will lead a team responsible for financial planning, analysis, reporting, and business performance management.

As part of the Corporate Finance team at Auto & General, we drive the business to deliver results through insightful reporting and analysis, this role is key to ensuring this reporting is delivered in a timely manner. The team works in a fast-paced environment and thrives on achieving results for the organisation through influencing and partnering with the business.

The role

The FP&A Manager works within the Corporate Finance team to complete the following:
  • Support the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis in the annual budgeting process, including developing templates, coordinating inputs from various departments, and consolidating data.
  • Manage rolling forecasts and long-term financial planning.
  • Provide variance analysis between actual results, budget, and forecast, highlighting key drivers of performance.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
  • Analyse financial performance, including profitability and capital expenditures.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support business decision-making by providing financial models, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Collaborate with department heads and business units to understand financial needs and provide financial insights.
  • Advise on financial implications of strategic initiatives, such as new business opportunities, cost-saving measures, and investments.
  • Act as a key point of contact for financial planning and analysis matters within the organisation.
  • Continuously improve financial planning and analysis processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage and develop a team of financial analysts, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.

What experience you'll bring

Essential
  • Analytical, Commercial & Financial Ability
  • Formal qualifications in a relevant area and CA/CPA accreditation.
  • Five to Seven years' experience in a finance role in a comparable business - Financial services experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to produce, review and interpret large data sets and models.
  • High level of commercial acumen and focus on best practice.
  • A high level of self-awareness and personal effectiveness.
  • TM1/Power BI experience a bonus

Relationship Building & Communications
  • Ability to build effective relationships.
  • Strong presentation skills, the ability to engage at senior levels within the organisation and influence internal and external relationships to gain commitment.
  • A high level of self-awareness and personal effectiveness with impeccable work ethic.
  • Strong team player in support of an inclusive team culture .
  • Capability to closely align with and support internal and external customers whilst maintaining complete integrity and adequate independence
