SF are proud to be supporting this industry leading organisation based in South Derbyshire, as they look for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on what will initially be a 12 month FTC basis, with a view to permanent employment at the end.

The role:
The role involves assisting the finance team with month-end responsibilities and collaborating closely with the finance department to perform daily accounting functions. Additionally, it includes working alongside the operations team to conduct stock assessments and audits. Timely and accurate reports to be generated as needed.
  • Preparation of draft monthly management accounts pack to present to management for review.
  • Explanation of variances to budget and prior year in management accounts.
  • Preparation of accruals, prepayments and inter company journals.
  • Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process ensuring completion, content and accuracy.
  • Involvement with weekly stock takes with weekly spot checks carried out.
  • Monthly/Quarterly stock audits.
  • Production of monthly departmental expenditure reports for department heads.
  • Weekly steel reporting and reconciliation.
  • Weekly factory labour reporting and analysis.
  • Build a good relationship with operations team
  • Ensure adherence to reporting requirements and deadlines on monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Support the finance team in all matters relating to the preparation, provision and resolution of queries relating to the audit of the company's financial records.
  • Ad hoc reports / project work and analysis as required.

This is a full time role on a 12 month FTC initially then moving into permanent employment. You will be working 40 hours per week, with 4 days in office and 1 at home.

About you
The ideal candidate will be part qualified, have the ability to talk to people of varying levels, have experience in monthly budget variance analysis and be a strong Excel user. You will be also confident in stock audits, spot checks and building relationships.

During the first month of employment, travel and overnight stays (cost covered by company) will be required in order to complete full training & handover. Ideally you will have your own vehicle, though applications from those who do not drive will be considered for stand-out CVs.
