We are seeking to appointment a Finance Assistant to support our school finance team. This is a permanent role, working 37 hours per week for 40 weeks of the year. Grade 3 £22,737 FTE (Pay Award Pending)

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing incoming communication to the finance team and distributing this appropriately, assisting school staff in order processing and ensuring orders are approved in line with regulations, and handling cash and banking. The role will also involve assisting with other accounting and finance duties under supervision.

You will work under the supervision of the Finance and Business Manager and have additional support from more senior officers in the team.

  • Honesty and integrity.
  • Experience working with money and accounts would be an advantage.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Keeping Children Safe in Education

The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
