Finance Business Partner - Commercial
SUMMARY: The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for providing financial and analytical support with a focus on the commercial areas of the business.
The Finance Business Partner will conduct analysis to understand the metrics needed to forecast revenue recognition over time, for backlog by service line. They will be responsible for forecasting the backlog build based on known pipeline and the wider market. They will set up budgeting and forecasting processes. They will be responsible for all Commercial departmental forecasting and monthly P&L reporting. They will provide support and feedback around our contracts and be responsible for reviewing pricing and pricing updates.
The Finance Business partner is expected to challenge teams where appropriate and escalate any concerns through the appropriate escalation channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Forecast revenue recognition from backlog over time, by service line
- Forecast the backlog build based on known pipeline and the wider market
- Analyses and produces reporting on Pipeline
- Provides monthly departmental income statements including analysis and commentary on variances
- Responsible for budgeting and forecasting for all commercial departments
- Conducts monthly meetings with department heads to review P&L and discuss any finance related topics
- Review headcount requests in collaboration with HR
- Provides Finance training to Non-Finance Heads of Departments and Managers
- Identify opportunities to maximise revenue and EBITDA
- Provides support for BD commissions including contributing to the commission plans design, calculating commission payable and forecasting the potential pay-outs
- Change Order forecasting, analysis and reporting
- Reviews revenue recognition policies to ensure maximisation of revenue and EBITDA linked to budget tool
- Responsible for reviewing pricing and pricing updates
- Reviews contracts and provides feedback and suggestions for improvement
- Provides business case support as required and ROI for marketing spend & conference attendance
- Review current processes and make suggestions for improvement
- Support the implementation of a new ERP system
- Work on projects and areas of specialty as agreed with Line Manager
- Support the wider Finance team.
- Stay up to date with local and global revenue regulations

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to influence and challenge as required
- Understanding of the financial aspects of projects
- Strong Accounting Knowledge
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in a similar role and industry beneficial
- Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant or QBE
- Previous experience of designing and improving processes
- Effective communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
- Proficient in Excel, databases, and accounting systems
- Degree Educated or Equivalent
