As the Controller for our St. Pauls and Spindale manufacturing sites, you will help manage the financial health of these operations. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Controller, you will oversee all aspects of accounting, cost management, and internal controls. Your strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data will help drive informed decision-making and enhancing overall performance metrics. As an important member of both the Site Manufacturing and America's Finance teams, you will contribute to process improvement projects across our operations.
You Will:
  • Lead plant financial reporting and manage P&L responsibilities for the St. Pauls and Spindale sites.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to implement strategies for improving business profitability.
  • Monitor, analyze, and investigate variances to standards, budgets, and prior periods, providing relevant recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate the development of the annual operating plan and multi-year strategic plans, ensuring alignment with our goals.
  • Maintain accurate cost records, supporting North America's annual standard cost roll and in-year adjustments. Perform product costing, profitability analysis, and make/buy assessments.
  • Complete month-end financial close processes, ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, payroll, and other financial data.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reviews to Site Management and Senior Management, delivering insights on financial performance.
  • Prepare weekly financial performance projections and update formal monthly forecasts to reflect current business conditions.
  • Compile, maintain, and review key operational metrics (KPIs) for Site Management, driving data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyze capital investment requests, ensuring they yield strong returns while effectively managing associated risks.
  • Support site inventory reporting requirements and lead inventory reduction efforts. Coordinate inventory cycle count programs and audits.
  • Ensure all financial records are accurate and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, GAAP, and company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Department of Labor regulations.
  • Provide financial measurement support for site projects, including VAVE, productivity, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Offer proactive consultation and guidance on complex financial and operational matters to Manufacturing Department leaders, fostering informed decision-making.
You Have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years in a finance or accounting managerial role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong understanding of GAAP, financial performance drivers, accounting principles, internal controls, and financial systems. Experience with ERP systems, QAD, and Hyperion is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, organize, and analyze complex data for financial reporting, journal entries, and strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
