PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for working on specific areas within Target India for direct tax, indirect tax function. The team member will ensure adherence to internal process and policy requirements, meeting service levels, working effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive tax compliance.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Computation of monthly tax provision and working with the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) team for recording of the tax provision for business units in the books of accounts.
- Computation and payment of Advance Taxes within the statutory due dates
- Calculation of monthly TDS liability and payment of monthly TDS within the statutory due dates, including maintaining LDC tracker. Responsible for filing of the quarterly TDS returns, and related compliances.
- Preparation of the Computation of total income and tax thereon, including co-ordination with the Consultants for the timely preparation and filing of Annual Income tax returns
- Work with the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) team in supporting them in the closure of the tax audits
- Responsible for providing the information/documents to the consultants for the the Transfer Pricing Compliances on a timely basis and ensure that the filings are done well within the due dates
- Support for income tax assessments (direct tax and transfer pricing), including providing information in relation to the assessments and preparation of the submissions to the tax authorities in co ordination with the consultants
- Assist / provide information for tax appeals, advance rulings, APA, MAP and any other interaction with regulatory authorities
- Analysis of any amendment in law/new law and its impact on the Company and its implementation thereof
- Preparation of the workings and filing of the monthly GST returns for each of the units of the Company
- Preparation of the workings and filing of the Annual GST returns and Reconciliation statement in GSTR 9 and 9C respectively for each of the units of the Company
- Liaise with consultants on a timely basis for status of filings of the returns
- Ensure timely filing of the GST refunds for each unit of the Company
- Support for indirect tax assessments (GST/ Service tax / VAT and other indirect taxes), including compilation / provision of information and preparation of the submissions as required by the tax authorities, in co ordination with the tax consultants
- Review of submissions prepared by the tax consultants
- Responsible for follow up on the Service Tax Refund claims
- Provide necessary guidance / inputs to the business teams for income tax/ GST / other tax related queries
- Responsible for recording of the required tax entries and maintaining of the tax related GL accounts in an orderly manner
- Provide inputs on contract terms and consequent impact to taxability
- Work towards optimization of tax cost for the Company
- Ensure compliance with applicable internal controls, policies/ procedures including Internal Control for Financial Reporting; Foreign Corruption Practices Act (FCPA) and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA)
- Effective partnering with the external consultants as well as the US counterparts.
- Provide support to the FAR team on the Statutory Audit and IFC Audits on matters related to tax.

- CA with 5 years of post-qualification experience in tax function
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
- From IT industry or Big Four audit teams
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent Communication skills
- Excellent collaborator and go getter
- Good interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of SAP ERP
- Knowledge of relevant direct taxes indirect taxes etc.
