Introduction
The Exchange Control Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with all local and international exchange control regulations, policies, and procedures. This role involves monitoring and controlling the movement of funds, currencies, and financial transactions to ensure adherence to all exchange control requirements and organizational guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret exchange control regulations issued by all relevant authorities.

  • Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with exchange control regulations.

  • Review and approve foreign exchange transactions in accordance with established guidelines.

  • Provide guidance and training to staff on exchange control regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of financial transactions to identify potential compliance issues.

  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities as required.

  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies on exchange control matters.

  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or non-compliance issues related to exchange control.

  • Stay informed about changes in exchange control regulations and update internal policies accordingly.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of exchange control processes with overall organizational goals.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to exchange control activities.



Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar roleexchange control , preferably in a financial institution or multinational corporation.

  • Strong understanding of exchange control regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a cross functional team environment embracing agile principles.

  • Self-starter, Pro Active with Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word.

  • Proven experience in engaging the SARB, FINSURV, the Prudential Authority & other relevant industry stakeholders.

  • Professional certification in compliance or related field is essential
