As Royal Freemasons continues to make a positive difference to the lives of older people across Victoria, the organisation seeks to appoint a dynamic and customer-oriented leader to join the organisation as an Accounts Payable Officer.

The role

The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for ensuring outstanding accounts held by suppliers and creditors are maintained and up to date. This role is also required to ensure that accounts payable records are thoroughly maintained and that processes are reviewed to identify opportunity to develop and improve.

Key responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Officer will be required to deliver a high standard of work, possess a strong attention to detail, and have the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in a dynamic working environment.

Your main duties will include:
  • Process and record accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoicing and payment queries
  • Confirm all necessary approvals are obtained prior to processing payments, upholding financial integrity.
  • Accurately file and store all invoices, payment documents, and supporting records.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and support month- and year-end closing.

Knowledge and experience
  • 2 -3 years recent experience in the administration of Accounts Payable end to end
  • Experience within the home care, disability or aged care services or health care sectors is highly desirable
  • High level attention to detail, friendly and professional phone manner, and strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel), including intermediate excel skills (as a minimum)
  • Strong communication skills to maintain positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and to prioritise conflicting tasks through effective time management
