Position: Accounting Assistant

Hours: Full-Time
A newly created role within the management team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional who's looking to develop their career within an exciting and supportive environment.
This is a development-focused role, ideal for a part-qualified accountant eager to gain hands-on experience in a variety of accounting functions.
Preparation of Accounts: Preparing accounts to trial balance stage and beyond. Reconciling all Nominal Ledger Control Accounts, and preparing Accruals and Prepayments.
Purchase Ledger: Full management of the purchase ledger, from invoice coding and authorisation to posting and payment.
Cash Book: Maintaining the Cash Book, performing regular bank reconciliations, etc.
Sales Ledger: Managing Debtors Control Reconciliations, overseeing the automated warning letter system, and handling credit control.
VAT Returns: Managing VAT and EC Sales Returns.
Representative Expenses: Processing and analysing monthly reports, including Barclay card reconciliations.
Royalties & Commissions: Handling monthly processing and analysis of royalty payments and agent commissions.
Fixed Assets & Depreciation: Managing asset registers and calculating monthly depreciation charges.
Stock Valuations: Preparing regular stock valuations and maintaining stock control accounts.
Spreadsheet Management: Maintaining various spreadsheet controls essential for accounting processes.
Qualifications:
Part-qualified accountant or qualified AAT/ACCA/CIMA
Strong understanding of accounting principles with the ability to prepare accounts to trial balance stage and beyond.
IT Skills: Proficiency in relevant accounting software and spreadsheet management.
Personal Qualities
Enthusiastic & Self-Motivated: Driven and passionate about taking on new responsibilities.
Accurate & Reliable: You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
