Join a distinguished international leader in commodities and energy by embracing this rare Product Risk Analyst opportunity within their Risk Management team!Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe department of risk oversees that the risk-reward profile of the trade books is fully understood by senior management as well as that the business's physical exposure is valued correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring accurate and prompt entry and maintenance of physical and derivative trades
- Calculating and running daily risk reports, including profit and loss calculations
- Providing assistance in developing systems, processes, and reports
- Maintaining effective communication with traders and senior management about results
- Making sure reports and measurements reflect issues identified and are communicated proactively
- Ad hoc duties as needed
Education:
- Degree in Mathematics / Finance / Economics (Honours Degree preferred)
- 1 to 3 years' experience in financial services, or commodities trading
- VBA and Python coding skills are advantageous
- A high level of numeracy, as well as analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills required, with the ability to understand different perspectives and convey complex ideas to various audiences
- Capable of constructively challenging proposals to ensure their robustness while maintaining positive working relationships
- Able to work well in a team, flexibly managing a diverse range of issues
- Must work independently with a focus on practical business benefits, often under tight deadlines
