You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal and external financial policies.
Key Responsibilities of Assistant Accountant:
- Manage and reconcile all bank accounts on a daily and monthly basis, ensuring alignment with the accounting database.
- Oversee and produce monthly and quarterly financial statements for the management team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage and monitor outstanding debts, liaising with clients to ensure timely payment, and resolving any disputes to maintain positive client relationships.
- Update intercompany systems as orders are placed and invoices are issued, ensuring accurate reflection in the accounts.
- Support the management team in ensuring all HMRC submissions are timely and compliant, including VAT returns and other regulatory requirements.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
- Knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Excel.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially for credit control activities.
- Knowledge of HMRC regulations and requirements is advantageous.
