Duties:

General Bookkeeping:
  • Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including the recording of financial transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements with accounting records.

Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare reports for management, highlighting any financial discrepancies or trends.

Payroll Administration:
  • Process payroll for employees, ensuring accurate deductions and payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee salaries, bonuses, benefits, and leave entitlements.
  • Reconciliations and Account Management:
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts.

Taxation and Compliance:
  • Assist with VAT, PAYE, and other statutory compliance, ensuring all taxes and levies are paid on time.
  • Prepare documentation for annual audits and liaise with auditors to ensure all records are accurate and in compliance with regulations.

Cash Flow and Budgeting Support:
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts to assist with budget planning.
  • Provide financial data and analysis to support budgeting and financial decision-making.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiency.
  • Implement accounting systems and processes that streamline the overall accounting function.

Team Support:
  • Assist junior bookkeepers and other team members as required.
  • Provide guidance and training on bookkeeping processes, accounting software, and financial reporting.
