About the role
Based in our Pacific Door Systems business in Wellington, the Financial Accountant is critical to our organisation. We're seeking a Financial Accountant with previous accounting experience who wants to work with other like-minded, enthusiastic people in our team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of all functions within Accounting and Finance.
Further, you will be responsible for:
- Responsible for assisting with month-end close and reporting, including variance analysis, Balance sheet & GL account reconciliations.
- Responsible in the preparation of company income tax returns, FBT, GST and payroll tax and the lodgements, weekly Payroll data validations, payroll journals and payroll related liability accounts.
- Responsible for revenue completeness, monthly project claims, project reconciliation where necessary.
- Assist with internal audits & financial year-end audits, Hyperion (Assa Abloy global) reporting.
- Assist business with financial analysis, budgets, forecasts, and other management reporting assignments, budgeting process and quarterly forecasts, weekly sales/EBIT forecast process.
- Manage the fixed assets register as per company policy.
- Responsible for New Capital Projects preparation and capitalisation of Working in Progress.
About you
We are seeking someone who has strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well with systems and procedures. To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Minimum 3-5 years of commercial work experience.
- Experience in the manufacturing or industry is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong desire to learn.
- Knowledge on NZ tax, payroll regulations.
- Must be a CA, CIMA or CPA qualified.
- Familiarity with IFRS
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with an ERP system.
