Our client a not-for-profit research institute is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Scientists and other business units/leaders in the development of proposals, budgets and estimates for completion as well as establish track and monitor project schedules, deliverables and milestones.
• Responsible for analyzing financials to ensure that project goals are accomplished on time and on budget.
• Communicate with Sponsors, Scientists, Accounting and Finance personnel on project schedules, project and financial status including estimates to complete and deliverables.
• Work with Accounting and AR on the tracking and coordination of collection on invoices, and perform all other duties and tasks as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum of 2-3 years of directly related experience
• Demonstrated understanding of fundamental professional standards and practices utilizing GAAP and understanding of general ledger reconciliation and analysis.
• Working knowledge of GAAP
