About the Role
The role holder will be responsible for providing all aspects of end-to-end bookkeeping to our diverse portfolio of clients. This will include the preparation of VAT returns and CIS returns. You will manage daily bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with our internal procedures and accounting principles. With a focus on efficiency and accuracy, you’ll be instrumental in supporting the clients with their record-keeping and VAT/CIS compliance. You will also play a key role in supporting the Client Manager by maintaining accurate bookkeeping & VAT records which will be used for the preparation of the year-end accounts.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 35 hours per week.
Key Duties
- Take responsibility for own portfolio to ensure all aspects of end-to-end processing of client bookkeeping is completed in preparation for VAT returns or management accounts
- Take responsibility for own portfolio to ensure all aspects of VAT returns are prepared, reviewed and submitted to HMRC within deadlines.
- Take responsibility for own portfolio to ensure all aspects of CIS deduction returns, and CIS suffered are prepared for submission and /or submitted where required.
- Maintain strong client relationships through direct client contact in a professional manner.
- Keep up to date with key bookkeeping software.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
- Experience in a practice environment is key (ideally a minimum 3 years experience)
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
