We are offering a 6-month fixed term contract with hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days from home) and a competitive salary. We’re partnering with a highly successful legal firm based in Southampton, known for advising financial institutions, corporations, and private clients across international offices. They’re looking for a skilled Revenue Controller to join their team.
The purpose of this role is to identify, investigate, liaise, and communicate on historical issues uncovered through the 3E project. It plays a key role in supporting Financial Operations by ensuring that general ledger reconciliations are accurate, timely, and up-to-date, while also resolving any historical discrepancies.

We’re partnering with a highly successful legal firm based in Southampton, known for advising financial institutions, corporations, and private clients across international offices. They’re looking for a skilled Revenue Controller to join their team.
The purpose of this role is to identify, investigate, liaise, and communicate on historical issues uncovered through the 3E project. It plays a key role in supporting Financial Operations by ensuring that general ledger reconciliations are accurate, timely, and up-to-date, while also resolving any historical discrepancies.
Reporting to the Financial controller, your responsibilities will include:
- Managed designated balance sheet general ledger reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate general ledger updates in compliance with group policies
- Identified and resolved outstanding legacy balances across debtors, creditors, and bank accounts
- Prepared and posted journals to correct account balances and address historical discrepancies
- Collaborated with Financial Operations and Group Financial Control to resolve issues, aged general ledger items, and variances
- Partnered with business stakeholders and finance teams to drive systems and process improvement initiatives
- Identified and documented best practices to prevent reoccurrence of issues
- Provided regular progress reports, highlighting challenges, progress, and next steps
What we’re looking for:
- Part-qualified accountant or actively pursuing accounting qualifications.
- Over 3 years of experience in finance roles
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of business, driving key insights for decision-making
- Collaborative team player and creative problem-solver with a positive, can-do attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills, confident in engaging and collaborating within an international environment
- Strong understanding of core financial accounting standards, best practices, policies, processes, and systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and
- Challenge key stakeholders
- Ability to pick up new systems and procedures quickly.
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and flexibly when required.
- Organised manner with ability to prioritize workload.
- Motivated and pro-active with a 'can-do' approach
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality
