West Country Tool Company Ltd, part of the Rubix Group, is a specialist tooling supplier. Our award-winning approach and experience in tooling supply, integration, industrial supplies and tooling management allows us to be one of the largest companies within our field.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join our dynamic and busy team. This will be a perfect opportunity for someone looking to start a career in finance or ease their way back into a finance team.

The successful applicant will work independently using initiative and time management skills to meet deadlines. Precision in numeracy is of the upmost importance for this role and candidates must also be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, have experience working with a Finance System and have a good knowledge of Excel.

Key

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day book-keeping using Exchequer, the Finance System, including entering and producing invoices.
  • Manage bank payments, including foreign currency payments.
  • Posting month end journals.
  • Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Corresponding with customers to ensure payment of invoices.
  • General office duties.


Skills and Experience:
  • Experience of using business systems to input and maintain accurate records is a prerequisite.
  • Experience of working in a Finance role processing transactions is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word and Teams preferable) and proficiency in using Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, lookups).
  • Math and English to GCSE level or equivalent are required.

The role is office based, working hours are 08:00 to 17:00 and offers a competitive salary.
