Reporting to our Group Treasurer, this position plays a key role in a high performing treasury function. This is a varied role that includes cash management and forecasting, tax, financing, banking, capital expenditure and tax compliance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced finance professional, who enjoys variety and working in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrable experience of large accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle etc. is essential and knowledge of CIS and VAT in the construction industry, would be advantageous.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Treasury Accountant to join our friendly team in Harefield on a 6 month fixed term contract
Reporting to our Group Treasurer, this position plays a key role in a high performing treasury function. This is a varied role that includes cash management and forecasting, tax, financing, banking, capital expenditure and tax compliance.
Here are some of the activities you'll get involved with...
- Manage short-term cash forecasting, payments, and bank accounts.
- Reporting on short and medium term cash outlooks, to manage progress against our Liquidity Strategy.
- Forecast, review and control capital expenditure, providing insight into lease or buy decisions.
- Prepare investment appraisal submissions for proposed capital expenditure.
- Support the Group Treasurer in the management of cash investments.
- Take an active role in the transition to a new bank.
- Own and develop the control and reporting of hire purchase and lease processes.
- Review, prepare and submit CIS returns to HMRC, subcontractor verifications and the resolution of any subcontract ledger tax issues.
- Own and develop compliance, control and reporting of VAT.
- Review preparation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC.
- Develop control and reporting processes for all cash activities (bank & credit card reconciliation etc.) ensuring a full visibility for the Group.
- Complete the month end closing process, ensuring treasury ledger balances are accurately reconciled.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC self-billing regulations for both sales and sub-contract ledgers.
- Review and prepare payments (BACs/CHAPs).
- Identify improvement and efficiency opportunities and engage pro-actively with relevant cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Develop a credit control process from invoice through to cash allocation.
- Occasional assistance with Monthly Management Accounts.
- Provide analysis and expertise to non-financial colleagues.
- Liaison with external audit and assisting with audit requests.
