About the role:

The opportunity would suit someone who has experience of paralegal or legal secretarial work and who is keen to develop that by working within the Private Client Services team at abrdn.

Working alongside specialist advisers from legal, accountancy and tax backgrounds, the Private Client Assistant will play a key role in the delivery of tax, trust and succession planning advice and services to our clients. This will need to be someone who can quickly integrate themselves into a team, who is able to adapt and pick up new ways of working and who is adept at drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney and associated client communication. Technical knowledge and experience are essential, as is the ability to effectively manage a demanding workload.

Requirements:

• Experience of drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney and undertaking executory/probate administration and associated client communication
• Understand client needs and apply technical knowledge to deliver high quality documentation within required timescales ensure consistently good client outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction
• Achieve performance targets including quality and quantity of output, client experience and compliance.
• Maintain own technical knowledge

Skills and Experience:

• You need to be quick and accurate with excellent attention to detail.
• You need to be able to quickly build relationships with the Private Client Advisers and integrate into the team.
• You will need to be an organised self-starter who can effectively manage time and workload, be proactive when appropriate, to take responsibility and ownership for actions.
• You will need to be friendly, enthusiastic, committed and able to connect to colleagues and clients, establishing credibility and consistently providing excellent client service.
• You will need good numeracy, literacy and IT skills with excellent verbal and written English.
