Management Accountant



Location:
Birmingham Business Park


Salary:
£32,500 - £37,500 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (with 1-hour lunch break)
Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Company Overview

Milestone Education are a family-owned SME located in Birmingham Business Park, specialising in education services including recruitment, training, and wellbeing. With a turnover in excess of £5 million and a team of 20+ dedicated professionals, the company continues to evolve, providing excellent services to its clients. Payroll is outsourced, and the business utilises an invoice discount facility to support ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Financial Reporting

* Production of management accounts - producing monthly P&L and balance sheet, posting all journals accordingly

* Management information - Produce weekly reports to support informed business decisions and provide relevant analysis and insights

* Budget preparation - assist with preparation of annual budget working closely with budget owners

* Balance sheet reconciliations - perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance

* VAT returns - preparation of quarterly VAT return

* Cash flow forecasting - production of weekly & monthly cash flow forecast

Ledger Management

* Oversee all ledgers and financial processes

* Purchase ledger - posting all purchase invoices and production of payment run files

* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data

Growth & Development

* Adapt financial processes to meet the demands of a growing business

* Support the expansion of the business by managing financial systems effectively

Candidate Requirements

Background & Qualifications

* Part-qualified accountant (study support can be offered)

* Strong organisational and self-management skills

* Ability to produce accurate financial data and insightful analysis
