This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior finance professional to support the Finance Director in enhancing and strengthening the financial control and reporting functions. You’ll play a crucial role in optimising processes and ensuring efficient operations. The position is highly interactive, involving extensive engagement with stakeholders and the team, so we are primarily looking for someone who can work from our office.
About the Role
As the lead for Financial Control, you’ll lead a talented team, providing coaching and development to help them achieve both personal and business goals. You will act as a key business partner, offering expert advice on current and upcoming financial accounting standards. You’ll also be responsible for reviewing risks and proposing practical solutions, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Main duties and
responsibilities:
* Providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
* Acting as the company’s subject matter expert on financial standards and reporting.
* Preparing and presenting clear, accurate financial reports.
* Ensuring alignment between financial control and operational performance.
* Developing strategies and policies to optimise the Financial Controls function.
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience.
* Strong commercial awareness and enthusiasm for financial management.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate a team.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both financial and non-financial staff at all levels.
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
* A strategic thinker who is curious and innovative, always looking for ways to improve processes.
* Adaptable and agile in response to changes in business needs.
