Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper
I am currently recruiting on behalf of my prestigious client, based in Stockport, SK1, for an experienced Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper to join on a full-time, permanent basis.
Joining this forward-thinking company, the successful candidate will work in a fast-paced growing organisation with the opportunity to progress their career as the business expands.
The successful candidate will need proven Assistant Accounting experience with working knowledge of Xero and/or Sage and be able to work in a fast-paced, SME business.

About the role:
* Contribute and assist the Finance Manager in delivering monthly management accounts, periodic forecasting and budgeting
* Monitoring debtor and creditor ledgers to ensure accuracy of input
* Journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
* Some Purchase ledger & Sales ledger invoice processing work and bank allocations
* Working closely with colleagues both inside and outside of finance
* Getting involved in ad-hoc finance projects
* Daily upload into Invoice finance company's online system and draw down available funds
* Own certain month end processes by: ensuring banks are reconciled, PLEO is reconciled, STRIPE is reconciled and efficient processing of invoices and credit notes to given deadline
* Monitor and organise Accounts inbox and investigate any queries and resolve them in a timely manner
* Manage Fixed Asset register and post monthly depreciation journal
Hours and Pay:
* Monday to Friday
* Hybrid/Remote - 3-days home working per week
* Salary up to £35,000 - dependent on experience
* Permanent
* 33 days of annual leave, including 8 bank holidays plus Birthday Day Off

* Proven Bookkeeping/Accounting experience within an accounting practice environment is essential
* Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
* Accounts payable knowledge
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to meet deadlines and targets
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
